For information on countries and territories whose citizens
require visas in order to enter Canada as visitors go

United States citizens traveling to Canada will be required
to show one of the following documents:
- U.S. passport
- Original birth certificate
- Naturalization certificate
- A certified copy of a U.S. birth certificate with
photo ID (driver's license)
Also, any person under the age of 18 traveling with one
parent or guardian will need a notarized letter from the
other parent to enter the country. If you are a naturalized
United States citizen without a passport, you should travel
with your naturalization certificate. If you are a permanent
resident of the United States you should travel with your
green card.
Be sure to call your airline to ask which documents are
needed to prove your U.S. citizenship.

driver's license or social security card is no longer
accepted as proof of U.S. citizenship.
